Turmeric Face Mask – How To Treat Your Skin At Home

Have you ever tried to make your own turmeric face mask before? In this post I am going to share with you one of my skin care secrets that will help your skin look beautiful again. After adding the natural ingredient to my daily skin care routine all of my skin problems have slowly faded away.

If you are like me and regularly make your own skin care treatments, try adding a bit of turmeric to your favorite face mask recipe next time, or you can simply make your own face mask with this brilliant ingredient! A face mask will help clear and smooth your skin, minimize your pores and make your skin appear fuller and plumper.

Turmeric, commonly known as ‘haldi’ in India, is a spice derived from the roots of the curcuma longa plant. Being native to South Asia, this spice has been used in Indian cuisines from centuries. Turmeric is also prescribed in Indian medicine for various skin care issues, like puffiness, wrinkles and eczema. Besides this, it is used for cuts and burns due to it’s antiseptic effect and ability to promote healing.

It is an inexpensive and natural way of treating several skin problems and getting a flawless skin.

Turmeric has been used as a beauty product for centuries. It keeps skin soft and smooth, makes it glow, tackles acne and helps bust hyper-pigmentation. People with oily skin or acne scars who use turmeric on a regular basis can expect a noticeable improvement in the quality of their skin. Turmeric is an antioxidant that fends off free radicals that cause premature aging.

Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent. It’s anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce redness from blemishes and rosacea, and the antibacterial properties disinfect the skin and combat acne. It reduces the appearance of dark circles and it can also help to correct an uneven skin tone. Did you know that many people who use turmeric skin treatments even stop using foundation altogether? If you’re apprehensive about trying this treatment, please do your own research first and of course, as with any home remedy, you should always consult with your physician.

How to Make a Turmeric Face Mask:

Heat up a teaspoon of raw honey in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.

In a dish, combine the honey with a teaspoon of turmeric and a teaspoon of milk or Greek yogurt.

Wash your face, pull your hair back and apply the mask to your face using your fingers or a spoon. Be careful applying the mask, as turmeric can stain.

Let the mask dry and harden for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Rinse the mask off with warm water.
